Volunteers Make a Difference Volunteering allows you to make good use of your talents. There are many ways a person can volunteer for Helping Hands and Hearts Hospice with time, energy, knowledge and resources. Rewards
Hospice Care Goals are: Pain and symptom control, plus emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers work with our medical team in several ways.
This volunteer is extensively trained to provide emotional support and practical assistance to patients and families.
This volunteer works for up to one year with hospice families grieving the loss of a loved one. Patient service training, plus bereavement support training required.
This volunteer lends a hand during special events, in the office or when patients have immediate needs for transportation, help with errands, etc. Limited training required.
This volunteer offers specific professional service to the hospice program. Some examples are the psychologists, chaplains, lawyers and funeral directors who help train volunteers and provide continuing education. Generosity required.
Volunteering goods can be as important as the giving of time and energy. Items needed are:
